Long Distance: Your Couple App2.0.3 - App Store
You'll be able to see results in few seconds.
Publisher Description
Long Distance is a couples app for the small stuff. Send a photo of your breakfast to your partner's Home Screen, leave a note that says "out of milk, love you", or start a countdown to the anniversary one of you always forgets.
It's for every couple, whether you share a home or not.
Photos and doodles on their Home Screen
Take a photo or draw something, on a blank canvas or right over a picture. Add a caption bubble like "Hey you up?", a clock or a greeting, then send. Seconds later it's on your partner's Draw & Snap widget without them opening the app, and a tap on the notification lets them reply. Recent snaps stay in a shared gallery, where you can replay how a drawing was made.
Couple challenges
In the Quiz tab you each answer on your own phone, and neither of you sees the other's answers until you've both finished. Then Result puts them side by side: you both picked this, or you very much didn't. My Turn and Their Turn show whose move it is, and there's a nudge for when they're taking their time. A daily Quiz Reminder arrives at 8pm, and you can turn it off.
Nine topics, 45 quizzes
There are 45 quizzes of 10 questions each, across Just for Fun, Read My Mind, Heart to Heart, Grown-Up Stuff, Feeling Flirty, Time Will Tell, Imagine That, Pick Your Side and Out & About, and new ones arrive without an app update. One quiz in every topic is free, including Yes or No, Love Languages, Money Talk, Petty Debates, Travel Mode and Who's Most Likely To?
Countdowns
Your anniversary and both birthdays roll over every year on their own. Each one is a full-photo card that says something like "9 days to go", and you both see the same cards. Switch between Upcoming and Memories, where past days turn black and white. Premium adds custom countdowns for anything you like, your own photos and a reminder before the day.
Shared Note
One note for the two of you, for the weekend list or Friday's plan. Tap send and your partner gets a notification, and their Shared Note widget shows the new version and who changed it. Either of you can edit it, and it's free.
One globe for you both
The Distance tab puts both your photos on a 3D globe, with your cities, each person's local time, how many hours apart you are and the distance between you. Ghost Mode hides your pin whenever you want. Only your partner can see your location.
Six widgets
- Draw & Snap shows their newest photo or drawing, in Small and Large
- Shared Note comes in Small, Medium and Large, and on the Lock Screen
- Distance shows both cities, local time and the distance, in Medium, Large and on the Lock Screen
- You & Them puts your mascot, mood or message next to theirs, in Medium
- Countdown shows the next one up, or the one you pin, in Small, Medium and on the Lock Screen
- Days Together counts the days since you got together, on the Lock Screen
Private to you two
You pair with one person, using an invite link or a 6-character code. If you already have their code, you can enter it while you sign up. What you send goes to your person and nobody else. Your shared streak grows every day you both send a snap, update You & Them or answer a quiz question.
Free and Premium
Free includes every widget, the Shared Note, the globe, countdowns for your anniversary and both birthdays, 3 snaps a day and one quiz in every topic. One Premium plan covers you both, and it adds:
- The other 36 quizzes, with 360 more questions
- Unlimited snaps, HD photos and photos from your library
- Your full snap history, unlimited drafts and watermark-free saves
- Every animated mascot and illustration

Version History 21 new quizzes, picked from your requests, so every topic now has five. Among them: Travel Mode and Date Night in a new Out & About topic, Living Together Part 2, Funny Memories, Dream Home, Lottery Win, Pet Peeves, and two new Feeling Flirty quizzes, Spicy This or That and After Dark. New quizzes can now arrive without an app update.
Also in this update:
- Your drawing saves itself as you go. If you swipe away or close the app before sending, it's waiting for you when you come back
- In every topic, the newest quizzes now come right after the free one
Fixed:
- Opening a saved draft with a photo and sending it again used to drop the photo. Now the photo comes along 2.0.3 11h ago Joining your partner takes fewer steps now. If they sent you an invite code, you can enter it while you sign up. You're connected as soon as your account is ready, and you skip the pairing steps. If you open their invite link instead, the code is filled in for you.
Also in this update:
- Open the widget gallery from the Countdown tab and it starts on the Countdown widget. From the Widgets tab, it starts on the widget for the mode you're in
- On the Quiz tab, the original five topics are listed first again, followed by Time Will Tell, Imagine That and Pick Your Side. The free quizzes from those three still come first in the cards at the top
Fixed:
- Buying Premium from the plans page used to leave that screen open. Now it closes on its own 2.0.2 Sep 29 Three new quiz topics are on the Quiz tab: Time Will Tell, Imagine That and Pick Your Side. That's 9 more quizzes and 90 more questions, and one quiz in each topic is free. They come first on the tab, and their featured cards are marked New.
Also new:
- The first snap, drawing or Shared Note your partner sends you opens on its own screen, with a button to add the widget so the next one goes straight to your Home Screen
- If you sent the invite, we'll let you know when your partner joins and give you a shortcut to add the widget
- On the free plan, the daily limit screen shows when your snaps reset, and you can save the snap as a draft for tomorrow
- We removed the full-screen ad that showed up after you sent a snap
Fixes:
- The widget setup guide waits for each animation to finish before you can move on
- The Shared Note header no longer gets rounded bottom corners inside a sheet 2.0.1 Sep 19 Long Distance has a new name and a new look, and there's a cat now.
On the App Store we're Long Distance: Your Couple App, because it's for every couple. Your Home Screen still says Long Distance. We redrew every screen in warm amber. The cat says hello when you sign in and turns up again when you finish a quiz. The app icon is a close-up of its face, and Premium adds two more cat icons, Sweetheart and Peekaboo, in More > Appearance > App Icon.
Quiz is a new tab. There are 15 quizzes in five topics, 10 questions each. You answer on your phone, your person answers on theirs, and neither of you sees the other's answers until you've both finished. Then Result puts your answers side by side. We'll let you know when it's your turn, and you can nudge them when it's theirs. One quiz in every topic is free.
Shared Note is new too. It's one note for the two of you, for the stuff you'd otherwise text each other and lose. Change it, tap send, and it shows up on their Shared Note widget. The widget comes in every Home Screen size and on the Lock Screen.
The Distance tab has its own widget now. Medium and Large put both your photos over the earth at night, with both cities and both local times. The Lock Screen one draws a little route between your cities.
Every countdown is a full-photo card, and with Premium the photo can be one of yours. A switch at the top moves between Upcoming and Memories, and memories turn black and white. Your partner's birthday also stopped calling itself "Your birthday" on your phone.
Inviting your person used to take five screens. Now it takes one. Your code is there the moment the screen opens, sharing is a single tap, and if someone sends you a link the code arrives already filled in.
Also in this update:
- The tabs are now Widgets, Quiz, Countdown, Distance and More
- Quiz answers count toward your streak
- A quiz reminder comes at 8pm. Change it or turn it off in More > General > Quiz Reminder
- New accounts start with a few questions, like your birthday and when you got together, and your first countdowns fill themselves in
- If you start a trial, we remind you a day before it ends
- Signing out now also clears the Shared Note, your notifications and the app badge
- The app is English only from this version 2.0.0 Sep 15 New art behind your countdowns. If you haven't put your own photo on a card, it now sits on one of four painted landscapes instead of the old stock shots — a path through tall hedges to a blossom tree, flowering hills, a swing hanging from an old oak.
We also thinned the frosting over countdown photos, so whatever's back there actually comes through instead of sitting behind glass.
And if you missed the tour last update, it comes round once more. 1.10.1 Sep 1 Your countdown photos can move now. Open a countdown, turn on Morphing photo, and the picture slowly warps and folds like it's underwater, then settles back to how it was. It's off unless you switch it on, and it's per card, so only the ones you pick will do it.
The upgrade screen got the same treatment - a photo drifting behind everything, plus a few hearts you can flick around while you read.
Also in this update: the banners dotted around the app now sit on slow-moving colour instead of flat blocks, and the whole thing runs lighter on your battery than it looks. 1.10.0 Aug 26 Light mode is here. Settings › Appearance now has System, Light and Dark, so the app can sit on your phone the way everything else does instead of always being dark.
Moods and doodles are free. Every single one — the six-per-category limit is gone, so you can dress up your half of the widget as often as you like. Premium still unlocks the animated mascots.
Never quite got the widget onto your home screen? There's a walkthrough now. It stands a phone on screen and shows you where to long-press, which size to pick and what to search for. Look for "How to add widget" on the canvas or in Settings.
Also in this update: a rebuilt intro that shows each feature inside a real phone instead of a flat card, and you can replay it any time from Settings. Onboarding, the widget guide and the upgrade screen are now translated into every language the app speaks. 1.9.3 Aug 23 Countdown is here. Every date you’re both waiting for — the next visit, your anniversary, the flight home — now has its own tab, and you both see the same number of days.
Adding one takes a couple of taps, and there are presets for the dates most couples are counting toward. When the day finally arrives, the card celebrates instead of sitting at zero. You can also see who changed a countdown last, with their photo beside it.
Put one on your home screen or lock screen and the number is simply there every time you pick up your phone. Pin whichever one matters most.
Also in this update: a new app icon, and photos on your widget come through noticeably sharper. 1.9.2 Aug 14 Distance is here. One globe, both of you — your two pins, the line between, each local time, and exactly how far apart you are right now.
Ghost Mode hides you whenever you want. Your pin turns into a ghost and your person stops seeing where you are, until you switch it back off.
Only your partner sees your city. It goes into your shared session, nobody else can reach it, and it leaves with you when you unpair.
Also in this update: the drawing tools stay out of the way while you sketch, and both pins now show the moment the globe opens. 1.9.0 Aug 4 Two new faces this update: Mira and Vega. Between them, 21 new animations of ordinary days. Coffee, laundry, the commute, the gym, a long soak, a sick day. Pick whoever fits, and your person sees it on their widget.
The picker is tidier too, so you can move between Mira, Vega and Lumo without scrolling past everything else. And your status message now clears when you send a new one, instead of sticking around. 1.8.0 Jul 28 Pairing is the big one this update. Instead of reading a code out loud, you send one invite link. It opens the app with the code already filled in, and your person sees your name and photo before joining, so they know it’s really you. While you wait, there’s a canvas ready. Draw something, it’s the first thing they’ll see.
Plus a few small touch-ups to keep everything smooth. 1.7.1 Jul 26 Your snaps just learned a new trick: animated illustrations. Pick from 21 cute little characters and send one along with your drawing or photo — it comes to life on the canvas, in your gallery, and right on your person's home screen widget.
Choosing an overlay is nicer now too. The little dots under the canvas are gone — in their place, tappable chips for message, greeting, weather, location, clock, and the new Animated mode, so you can jump straight to the one you want.
Plus a few small touch-ups to keep everything smooth. 1.7.0 Jul 17 There's a little celebration now when you unlock premium, and a limited-time yearly deal that might just pop up for you and your person. Keep an eye out.
Sending from the mascot tab is quicker, you'll get a friendly heads-up when you're down to your last free snap of the day, and the canvas no longer jumps to the editor while you're taking a photo.
Translations also got a proper tune-up in all eight languages. 1.6.2 Jul 7 Your doodles have company. You can now send a mood too. Pick the one that matches how you're feeling and it lands on their home screen.
You can also give your side of the widget a color. Use one of the presets or pick your own. Your partner styles their side.
Plus a few small fixes. 1.6.1 Jul 4 New: Animated Mascots! Send a mascot that matches your mood and watch it pop up live on your partner's home screen widget.
Long Distance now also speaks more languages — Italian, Spanish, Norwegian, Greek, and Polish. Plus polish and small fixes throughout. 1.6.0 Jun 29 Say it every day. Long Distance now keeps a Streak for you and your partner — share a snap or drawing together each day and watch it grow.
Life gets busy, so Premium members can restore a lost streak once a month and pick up right where you left off. Plus polish and small fixes throughout. 1.5.1 Jun 14 Say it without words. Pick an animated mascot — a little heart that acts out how you're feeling — and send it straight to your partner's Home Screen.
Whether you're grabbing food, half-asleep, dancing, heading to work, deep in study, or just waving good morning, there's a mascot for the moment. Browse them by mood — Greetings, Food & Drink, Rest, Active, Focus — tap one, and it shows up animated on their widget. Plus small fixes throughout. 1.5.0 Jun 11 Snaps can carry a place now. Take a photo, swipe to the new Location tag, and it shows the street and city you're in, so your person knows where you were when you missed them.
Settings also got cleaned up: there's a Clear Cache button when you need to free space, plus a simpler layout and softer colors. Small fixes throughout. 1.4.2 Jun 7 Long Distance now works in three more languages: French, German, and Dutch. If that's how you and your person talk, the whole app should feel a lot more at home.
We also fixed a few bugs and tidied things up so everything runs a bit smoother. Thanks for using Long Distance, and keep the feedback coming, it really does shape what we build next. 1.4.1 May 29 Both cameras fire at once now. Your face and whatever you're looking at, in the same photo.
Line up your shot and the second camera tucks into the corner, rounded so it nests into the canvas. What you see in the preview is exactly what gets saved.
Snap it and it goes straight to your person, into your shared gallery and onto the widget like always. Draw on it, drop it into a Share card, or just let it sit there being cute. 1.4.0 May 26 Your gallery just got a Share button.
Tap it on any snap and a new editor opens up. Your photo lands inside a 9:16 Polaroid frame, with the post’s tag (greeting, clock, or custom message) and your name, date, and time printed in the white space below. Add washi tape across the top if you feel like it, or skip it. Pick from a few gradient backgrounds, or pick your own solid color. Everything updates live while you fiddle.
Film grain, a small ‘Made with Long Distance’ mark, export as PNG through the share sheet. Send it to your person, post it on stories, set it as a lock screen, whatever you want. 1.3.5 May 21 Realtime Canvas now includes coloring templates. Pick a page, color together live, and watch every stroke show up instantly for your person. We also tightened reconnect behavior and in-canvas controls, so sessions feel steadier when you jump back into the app. 1.3.4 Apr 6 In this version, we’ve introduced a new grid view in the gallery for easier browsing and selection. 1.3.3 Mar 26 In this version, we added support for signing in with both Google and Apple to make it easier to get started. 1.3.2 Mar 14 In this update, we fixed an issue where Share Premium benefits were not correctly applying to your partner’s account.
If you are a Share Premium user, your partner should now receive all shared features and access as expected. 1.3.1 Mar 6

1.3.1 Mar 6 This update makes drawing smoother, faster, and more reliable.
Whats new:
- Smoother drawing experience
Lines feel more natural and fluid, so your strokes look exactly the way you intend.
- Improved performance with complex drawings
Large canvases, many layers, and long strokes now send and save more reliably.
- More reliable sharing
Fixed issues that could occur when sending drawings with lots of layers or heavy stroke data.
- New app icon
A refreshed icon that better reflects the creative experience inside the app.
More small fixes and refinements are included to make your overall drawing workflow feel more stable and consistent. 1.3.0 Feb 27

Version History Long Distance has a new name and a new look, and there's a cat now.
- The app is English only from this version 2.0.0 1d ago New art behind your countdowns.

Choosing an overlay is nicer now too. The little dots under the canvas are gone — in their place, tappable chips for message, greeting, weather, location, clock, and the new Animated mode, so you can jump straight to the one you want.

version 1.9.0
posted on 2026-08-12
Version History Distance is here.
